ITIN

TIN Borrower Documentation Requirements
Borrowers using an Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN) must provide the following
A valid, government-issued photo ID (such as a driver’s license, passport, or visa)
A current ITIN card or IRS CP565 letter confirming ITIN assignment. This document must remain valid through the loan closing date. Note: IRS Form W-7 is not accepted in place of the ITIN card or CP565 letter.
An ITIN is considered expired if the card or CP565 letter is over three years old at the time of closing.
If the ITIN has expired, one of the following must be submitted to verify recent use:
IRS transcripts showing tax returns filed under the ITIN within the past three years (not applicable for alternative documentation income types)
A copy of an e-file confirmation receipt or
A letter from a licensed tax preparer confirming the most recent return was submitted to the IRS using the ITIN
